The IRS usually opens in late January.
But you can upload your documents to me as you get them and I’ll file as soon as the IRS starts accepting returns. I cannot file without all required documents
When your employer sends your W-2 to you, they also send a copy to the IRS.
So if you try to file with a pay stub:
the numbers won’t match
the IRS will flag it
your refund will be delayed or denied
you may have to fix the return later
Pay stubs can change. W-2s can’t.
Your W-2 is the final, official total for the whole year — that’s why the IRS requires it.
Everyone’s taxes are different.
Refunds depend on:
how much you made
how much taxes were taken out
if you have kids
if you own a business
if you had health insurance
Comparing refunds is like comparing paychecks — everyone’s situation is different.
It can.
Multiple jobs with low withholding = not enough taxes taken out.
That can make your refund smaller or cause you to owe.
I can help you fix your withholding for next year
When you’re self-employed, you are the business.
That means you must keep up with your own money because nobody else is taking taxes out for you.
Here’s what you need to track all year:
Cash, Zelle, CashApp, Venmo, Square, Facebook Marketplace, hair appointments, DoorDash — everything counts.
Anything you spend to run your business can help lower your taxes.
Driving for work counts.
Driving to the store for supplies counts.
Driving to customers counts.
Hair products, food ingredients, cleaning supplies, tools, packaging — anything you use to do your job.
Bigger items: chairs, clippers, cameras, tents, grills, laptops, etc.
If you use your phone for booking, calling clients, texting customers, or posting your services, a percentage can be written off.
If you don’t track your income and expenses:
you’ll pay more taxes
your return might be wrong
the IRS may question your numbers
you miss out on legal write-offs that save you money
Tracking = keeping more of your own money.
To make this easy, I created a business + personal financial planner you can use all year.
It helps you keep track of everything you need for tax season so we aren’t scrambling at the last minute.
You can purchase it right here on this site.
This planner only works if you open it, write in it, and track things consistently.
If you use it, tax time becomes 10 times easier for both of us.
If you use the planner all year and bring it to me at tax time, you’ll receive a special discount on your tax prep fee — because you’re making my job easier and keeping your return clean.
If you don’t know how to use the planner, don’t worry.
I will add instructional videos showing step-by-step:
how to track your income
how to track your expenses
how to track your mileage
how to stay IRS-ready all year
Simple, visual, beginner-friendly.
child must live with you more than half the year
school/medical letter with your address
birth certificate
you must be the main caregiver
No paperwork = no credits.
You don’t have to panic.
You can:
✔️ set up a payment plan
✔️ adjust your withholding
✔️ reduce your taxable income next year
✔️ fix business records
I’ll walk you through your options.
numquam, error, est. Ea, consequatur.
Yes.
That’s called an amendment.
We can fix wrong info, missing documents, or mistakes that might cause problems later.
We operate fully virtually for your convenience. With some exceptions forin person filing
Here’s how it works:
We use Google Drive, a secure platform, for all document uploads.
This keeps your information safe and private.
Uploading your documents here gives us a quick, easy way to share files.
You also keep your financial documents organized and safe for the IRS-required years.
Scan or snap clear, full photos of your documents.
Upload them directly to your intake folder when you’re ready to file.
Do not upload documents for estimates — we do not accept personal info unless you are filing.
Estimates are rough numbers only.
No sensitive information is needed just to get a quote.
Tip: The clearer your photos or scans, the faster and smoother your filing will be.
We offer refund advances through Republic Bank and TPG Bank.
It’s a loan against your refund.
You can get your money before the IRS sends your refund, but it’s technically a loan.
Fees apply.
Any bank or processing fees are deducted from the advance. The amount you get now + fees will automatically come off your IRS refund.
Don’t be shocked.
Your refund may be smaller than expected because the advance and fees are taken out. This is normal.
How to apply.
Check off you want a loan on yur intake form when you file your taxes. Approval in 1 -24 hours sfast but not guaranteed.
💡 Tip: Take a refund advance only if you need money quickly. If you’re patient, you can always get the full refund directly from the IRS.
If you ever get a letter from the IRS or Michigan Department of Treasury, don’t panic.
Snap a picture, email it to me, and I’ll help you understand it and take any necessary action.
